Abiti Gossaye Heikaus-Weaver transitioned into his eternal life with God on Monday, August 3, 2015. Abiti was born in Shone, Ethiopia on October 24, 2002. His adoptive parents, Chris and Kirsten Heikaus-Weaver took him and three of his siblings, Temesgen, Misirach, and Muluken into their home in Riverside, California in July 2006, when Abiti was just three years old. While he played sports and enjoyed electronics as many children do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was his passion. Abiti proudly received his yellow belt in Jiu Jitsu under Rommel Dunbar. He recently completed sixth grade at River Springs Charter School, and was on his way to middle school. Abiti was a member of St. Marys Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Los Angeles where he visited regularly with his family. He is survived in Riverside by his adoptive parents, his sister Misirach, four brothers, Muluken, Temesgen, Zenabu, and Melaku, as well as other siblings and family members in Ethiopia. Our hearts ache at his passing.
