Albert “Jack” Moore

Albert Jackson Moore Jr., 86 years old, of Lake Elsinore, CA, passed away on June 19, 2014 in Riverside. He was born July 25, 1927 in Kansas City, KS, son of Albert J Moore Sr and Margaret E. Moore of Turner, KS. Jack was very active in civic affairs in the Kansas City/Turner area; serving on the Kansas City , KS Junior College Advisory Board, as President and Director of the Turner Lions Club and Secretary of District #202 Recreation Commission for the school board. He also served as Choir Director of Oakland Park Baptist Church of Kansas City. KS during the 1960s. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Boiler Operator aboard the U.S.S. Iowa to Japan. Upon his return in 1947, he joined the PQ Chemical Corp. as a lab assistant. In 1956, he was promoted to Plant Superintendent. He would then be promoted and transferred to the corporations flagship plant operations in South Gate, CA in 1968; relocating his entire family to the West Coast. After 38 years of operational management within the corporation, both on the West and East Coast, Jack retired. He spent the remaining years of his life in California. Surviving are wife of 66 years, Ernestine A. Moore, daughter of the late, Rev. Harry Colas; his four children, Jerry Moore, of Tacoma, WA, Susan Moore Rivera, of Norco, CA, Annie Moore, of Palm Springs, CA, Butch Moore, of Fallbrook, CA, his granddaughter Courtney Tush Lima, and her husband Jamie; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Jack, Kate; step-grandson, Vaughn Moore and his wife Amy and their two children Ayrus and Raven of Oregon. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and his two younger twin brothers, Ronald Moore and Rev. Donald Moore, son-in-law . Graveside Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
