Papa Kambwa passed peacefully from this life the night of December 20th, 2018 following a short stay at Corona Care facility where he was being cared for knee pain. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Also known as Papa Matefa, Mfumueto, SG (read sege), President, or MATEF, Papa Kambwa was born in November 20, 1942 at Bidi in the province of Kongo Central, Democratic Republic of Congo from an union of Papa MATAYI Mamuanga Matthieu and Maman NISI Kombo Elisabeth. He came 3rd of a family of nine children, four of them already passed away. Papa Kambwa was Married in 1965 to Maman Miezi Julienne to which he has seven children. Papa Kambwa lived in Ngiri -Ngiri before travelling to the United States of America in 2010. Papa Kambwa is survived by his Lovely wife Miezi Julienne and several children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also survived by his brothers Makitu, Matthieu, Luzolo, and Matondo, and by his sister Julienne. He was preceded in death by his father, and mother… Papa Andre was a Christian believer and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a dedicated servant of God whom he served with passion. Papa Andre spoke fluently three languages: Kinkongo, Lingala, and French. Graduated at IPN in 1964, he held several government positions and was a highly qualified administrator for several years. He received medal of honors, Chevalier de l'ordre national du lopard (1990) and Officier de l'ordre national du lopard (1995) A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 10:00am.
