On Tuesday the 26th of September at 2:00 pm Andrew was called to Glory while surrounded by family at Chino Valley Hospital. He was the husband of June Jones with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Andrew was born on August 19th,1942 in Detroit Michigan to the late Classy Mae Amos and Hudson Bernard Jones. He was the youngest son. He attended Central High School in Detroit Michigan where he met June. June was a hall monitor and asked Andrew to produce his hall pass. His response, "Baby, I don't need no hall pass." They later married and the rest is history. Upon graduation, he went to work for General Motors and attended electrician school where he earned a journeyman's degree. After 30 years of continuous and faithful service at General Motions, he retired and moved with June to California to be near his daughters and granddaughters. Tiring of retirement, Andrew obtained employment with the Hacienda/La Puente school district as an electrician. He retired in 2018. Andrew accepted Christ when he was a teenager. In his later years he attended Hartford Avenue Baptist church with Pastor Adams presiding where he served as a member of the choir. After moving to California, he joined West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles. He later joined Mount Zion Baptist church in Ontario under Pastor Brian Kennedy where he served as a deacon. In 2010, he joined Praise Tabernacle Bible Church under Pastor Jody Moore where he served as a deacon. Andrew was a faithful and generous man who took pride in everything he undertook. He was passionate about helping others and spending time with his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing golf, singing in the men's choir, serving as a deacon, fixing things, learning, writing, and just puttering around the house. Andrew is survived by his wife June, daughters Allison Jones and Suzette Butler, son-in-law Andrew Butler, granddaughters Joy Douglas, Keziah Douglas, and Rachel Featherstone, sister Carol Hairston, sisters-in-law Lauren King and Claire Neal, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grand nephews. He was predeceased by son Elliott Lawson, parents Classy Mae Amos and Hudson Bernard Jones, and siblings Janette Jones, Beverly Fortner, Sandra Gaines, Delores McDowell, Charles Jones, Bernard Jones, and Rudolph Jones, and Donald Jones.
