Anita Felix Cruz

February 11, 1939 — June 12, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Felix Cruz. She left us in peace and grace at her home on June 12, 2021. She was 82 years old at the time of her passing. Anita was born in Carlsbad, California, on February 11, 1939, the daughter of Guadalupe Felix and Maria Murillo-Felix. She was the second youngest of eight children. Although she joked about having to repeat math class, she persevered and graduated from Corona Senior High School, the only child to have done so in her family. On August 7, 1965, Anita wed Manuel Cruz at Saint Edwards Catholic Church, and they resided in Corona, California. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Manuel Cruz Jr., Carlos Cruz, and Mario Cruz. Manuel Cruz, Sr. preceded her death in 1990. Anita Cruz enjoyed working as a Teacher's Aide for Corona-Norco Unified School District. She helped students from English Language Learners, to students with Special Needs, succeed in public school. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend. Anita was a proud grandmother to granddaughters Sedona, Skyla, and grandson, Joshua. She enjoyed hearing about Sedonas film and videography achievements, Skylas dance recital performances, and Joshuas baseball accomplishments. Anita is survived by Manuel and Sylvia Cruz, Jr., Carlos Cruz, Mario and Kristy Cruz, her grandchildren, Sedona, Skyla, Joshua, her sister Georgia Sotello, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Anita rejoins her loved ones, Manuel Cruz, Sr., her parents, brother John Felix and sisters Petra Rios, Ernestina Najar, Virginia Cortez, Rufina Miranda, and Natalia Bega. She lived her life with simple pleasures; family gatherings, going to the movies, listening to Elvis, and having lunch with her sisters, cousins, and friends. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her three sons strong values, hard work ethic, and never-ending love that continues to serve them well. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts. Mom- Thank you for everything you have done for us. We will never forget you, your hard work and sacrifices, and the beautiful, rich color you brought into our lives. We love you forever!
