Remembering a Life of Kindness and Strength

Anitra Nicole Pugh (Lowe), 51, of Loma Linda, CA, formerly of Aliquippa, PA, departed this life unexpectedly, in her home on April 11, 2026.

She was born on February 18, 1975, to Dangena Johnson and the late Bernard Pugh Sr., and was their beloved daughter.

In 2005, Anitra proudly earned her high school equivalency diploma. Before her passing she attended San Bernardino Community College, where she was pursuing a bachelors degree in counseling with a focus on drug and alcohol studies, driven by her desire to help others overcome life’s challenges.

She cherished God’s loving grace and attended Greater Dominion Church of the Millennium in Ambridge, PA, under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Crumb. After relocating to California, she became an active member of Promises of God Christian Cathedral in San Bernardino, CA, where she faithfully worshipped under the guidance of Bishop Markeith L. Smith, Sr. and First Lady Dr. A.

Anitra was a woman whose laughter could brighten any room. She had a passion for serving others and was actively involved in her church’s homeless outreach ministry, faithfully participating in services and giving back to her community. She found joy in cooking and in collecting clothing and essentials for those in need.

Anitra was known for her unwavering kindness and deep compassion; qualities that defined her. She placed her family and friends at the center of her life, offering constant love, support, and encouragement. Her radiant smile and uplifting spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted husband of 15 years, Timothy Lowe, Loma Linda CA; and her children, whom she loved dearly: Autavis Pugh (Anika) of New Castle, PA, Jeremiah Pugh of Loma Linda, CA, Autashia Lowe and Nymirah Pugh of Aliquippa, PA, Tanesha Pugh and Kaziah Pugh both of Loma Linda, CA; and her stepdaughters, Romiah Lowe of Florida and Mya Pride of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by her loving brother, Bernard (Juicey) Pugh Jr. of Aliquippa, Pa.

She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren, in which she played an active role in their lives and treasured every moment spent with them.

Anitra will also be deeply missed by her loved ones, whose lives she touched in countless meaningful ways; 5 loving aunts Lena (Lucy) Cox (Aliquippa, Pa), Juanita (Feedie) Pugh Lowery (Aliquippa, Pa), Marquita Pugh (Ambridge, Pa), Delma( Dump) Pugh (Scranton, Pa) a maternal aunt Deborah Jackson (Rochester, Pa); 3 paternal loving uncles as well as 3 maternal loving uncles; a beloved cousin, Ernica Genes of Aliquippa, Pa; her devoted friends, who were like sisters, Barbra Hannon of Aliquippa, Pa, Dayna Stewart of Pittsburgh, Pa, and Trina Lowe of Atlanta, Ga, whose bonds of love and friendship meant so much to her. Along with a host of nieces nephews, cousins, friends; and her special friends, Rita (New Jersey), Ester Grady,

Kia Stone, and Erica O’Connor all of California.

In addition to her father Anitra was preceded in death by her motherly paternal grandmother, Rosalie Pugh; maternal grandmother Diana Thornton Johnson and Francis Short; her sons, Xavier Pugh and Darreon Lowe; uncles, Harry Pugh, Donald Johnson and David Johnson; a brother, Brian Johnson and a niece JaNaia Pugh.

Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and gentle strength. Those who knew her will forever remember her warmth, her laughter, and her ability to inspire and comfort others.
