Anne Leach was born in Narva, Estonia on Oct. 4, 1942 to her father Johannes and Mother Meeta Aasa. She was born during the German occupation of Estonia in WWII. When Russia occupied Estonia again in 1944, she and her family escaped and eventually made it to Geislingen, Germany in the American zone. They emigrated to New York city from there in 1950. Anne attended school in Oceanside NY. Her teenage and young adult years were spent on Long Island, NY - between the Estonian community and the American community. She and her mother moved to Corona, California where she worked at an electronics firm and married. Her death came mercifully quickly. She is remembered by her cousin John Saarmann, his wife Mary [in New Jersey] and their son Ian and his family [in Massachusetts]; and by her cousin Lembi Saarmann in San Diego, California. She is also remembered by the Fuller family in Washington state, the Kiil family in Maryland, and friends in New Jersey and New York. Anne was always self- assured and opinionated, but she had empathy for others and was thoughtful and sentimental. She is now at rest with her mother and father. From her Estonian religious experience we pray: Kalla, kallis Isa kasi Dear Father's hand, pour Rahu minu sudamese. Peace into my heart Anna et su laps ei vasi Help your child not to tire Palvetamast iialgi. Of praying to you evermore.
