It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Azucena Esperanza Contreras De Leon Gonzalez, who left our world, and aching hearts, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on May 15th, 1942, in Guatemala C.A., Azucena “Suzy”, lived a life rooted in love, service with her profession in nursing, and unwavering Catholic faith. She is remembered and honored as a devoted Mother, Wife and “Awelita”, whose kindness, strength, and compassion touched all who knew her.

Born with a generous heart and quiet resilience, she dedicated her life to caring for others. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took pride in creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, dancing and unconditional love. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, heard, and valued.

A woman of deep faith, our mother Azucena found strength and peace in prayer, and her trust in God’s will. She lived her life as an example of compassion, humility, and generosity, always placing others before herself. Throughout her life she demonstrated grace, and her faith guided her every step and sustained her through life’s joys and difficult moments.

Our Mami, taught us the importance of family, faith in God, commitment, unity, love and forgiveness not only through her words but through her actions. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely and sincerely.

She is survived by her Adoring Husband Ramon Alfredo Contreras whom she shared 53 years of marriage, Loving Daughters Renattha Veronica Contreras and Lidia Alejandra Contreras Campbell, and her treasured grandsons Andrew Alfredo Leland Contreras-Hoggatt and Brice Alexander Campbell Contreras, Son in Law Shane Campbell with daughters Tarra and Sariah Campbell, and extended family, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

Azucena Esperanza Contreras De Leon Gonzalez is preceded in her passing by her Mother Maria Teresa De Leon Gonzalez and Father Jose Octavio De Leon Novales. May they rest in unity and love for eternity.

Mami you are missed so deeply, your voice, your laughter, your warm embrace, your kindness simply the exceptional person you were. Thank you for your devotion, your strength, your love of life and your positivity in every moment. Our hope is that you felt our love and devotion and commitment to you as you showed us without question.

Eternally loved and adored by your husband, daughters, grandsons, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Can’t wait to hold you in our arms again. Soña con los Angelitos Mami. “Que Dios te quide”. “Dios sabe porque hace las cosas”.
