Beverly Eleanor Crothers Hoggan August 26, 1928 - April 28, 2016 Beverly was born in San Francisco, California, to Eathel and Loyd Crothers. Beverly had an older sister, Betty, and two younger brothers, Don and Bill. She was raised in the Bay Area, where she was a majorette at her local high school. At 17, she worked as a switchboard operator at Stanford University where she met James Hoggan who was stationed in the Army at Stanford. Three months later they married at the University Chapel. They moved to La Sierra, California, where they lived in the Vets Courts housing while James attended La Sierra College. They fell in love with the La Sierra community where they remained for 60 years. Bev and Jim had three daughters, Mary Ellen, Judie, and Nancy, a grandson, Kyle, and a grea t-grandson, Ethan. Beverly worked for Riverside County Health Department, Alford School District, and GenCon insurance. She was honored to serve for a year as President of the American Society of Women Accountants, California Citrus Belt Chapter. Bev loved table games, nature, camping, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, spending time with family, and a good joke, especially from her husband, Jim. Beverly was bright, compassionate, creative, and never said a bad word about anyone. James, her beloved husband of more than 60 years, passed away in April 2006. In addition to her daughters, grandson, and great-grandson, she is survived by her brother, Bill Crothers, sister-in-law, Annie Crothers, nieces and nephews. Beverly passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2016. She will be deeply missed, but we know that we will see her again in Heaven. Rest in peace, precious Mom.
