Brian “Big” McKernan, 51, of Norco, passed away February 10, 2015 with his family by his side. Brian, the son of Bill McKernan and the late Eileen McKernan, was born November 20, 1963. Brian graduated from Norco High School in1982. He received his AA degree at Riverside Community College in 1985. He played football for both Norco High and RCC. Brian married his wife Joyce in 2000. He worked at Target Distribution Center in Fontana for 21 years. Brian was an avid sports fan; he was especially fond of the Green Bay Packers. Throughout his life he enjoyed participating in a variety of sports and recreation including street hockey, tennis, basketball, poker and horseshoes. Brian was a warm-hearted and fun-loving person who made everyone around him feel welcomed. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving and St. Paddys Day celebrations. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his special gift to get everyone in his presence belly laughing with one-of-a-kind remarks that only Brian could drum up. He is survived by his spouse Joyce of Norco, father Bill of Norco, his twin brother Tim of Ontario, sister Kathleen of Corona, brother Bill of Victorville, sister Moira of Riverside, brother Mike of Twin Peaks, brother Dan of Big Bear, brother Ken of Norco and stepdaughter Darlene of La Puente. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 26 at 6 p.m. (rosary at 5:30 p.m.) at St. Matthews Church in Corona.
