Carinetha Bonner‑Dawson passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at sixty‑nine years old, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on March 17, 1957, in Los Angeles, she grew into a woman whose life was shaped by generosity, strength, creativity, and a fierce devotion to the people she held close.
Anyone who knew Carinetha knew her kindness first. She had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for whether through a warm meal, a thoughtful gesture, or her unforgettable laugh that could fill a room and lift a heavy day. She moved through life with humor, resilience, faith, and a creativity that showed up in everything she touched. Cooking, working, volunteering, creating, caring she poured intention and heart into it all.
But above everything, she was a mother. Her children Davon, Elizabeth, and Christine were the center of her world. She loved them with a depth that shaped their lives and will continue to guide them long after her passing. Her joy only grew with the arrival of her grandchildren, Idris and Mckinnley, who brought her pride, laughter, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Carinetha is survived by her loving children and grandchildren; her siblings, Rufus Bonner and Ruthie Bonner; her extended sisters; and her nieces, Briana Holmes and Ariana Holmes, and numerous relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Olla Mae Bonner, her husband, Ralph Dawson, and her loyal four‑legged companion, Foxxi‑Brown.
Her life was full of love, full of faith, full of moments that will continue to echo in the hearts of everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with gratitude, tenderness, and endless love.
