Carmilita Margarita Urioste
November 13, 1951 – January 19, 2026
Carmilita Margarita Urioste—known affectionately to many as Carmen or Margaret—passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in laughter, strength and love. Born on November 13, 1951, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Juan and Emilia Urioste, she was raised in Albuquerque before moving to Corona, California, where she resided for the past 20 years.
She was the heart of her family, a devoted mother who poured her love, strength and support into her children, son Dennis Rosales and wife Vanessa Flores, who she loved like her own daughter and daughter Natalie Urioste. Affectionately called Nana by her grandchildren Diego, Myla, Jacob, Aaliyah, Isaiah, Janessa, Santiago and Xamyra. She was proud of all they accomplished and loved seeing them grow. It brought her great joy to support their interests. Her love extended to her beloved chihuahua and constant companion for 15 years, Patches.
One of eight children, she is survived by her brother Juan T. Urioste and special sister-in-law, Darlene and sisters Nellie Garcia (Eddie), Ofelia Urioste (Carlos), Mary Urioste, Sandra Campos (Richard), Lucille Baca (Vicente), and Anna Urioste. She held a deep and enduring love for her siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Carmen was fiercely strong and independent. Firmly rooted in who she was. She was kind and would do anything for those she loved. She was a woman of quick wit and an unforgettable sense of humor. She left everyone with a story of something hilarious she did or said. Beyond her humor, she possessed a legendary green thumb and could make any plant flourish, and her home was always a testament to her ability to nurture life into full bloom.
While she has left our earthly presence, her generosity, strength, and laughter will be carried forward for eternity by the family and friends who loved her most.
