79 years old. Born September 18, 1937 in Manila, Philippines. Died on April 28, 2017 at Corona Regional Medical Center, Corona, California. Following a long battle of congestive heart failure and heart disease. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Estrellita Umali, his eldest son, Verdi Umali and wife Edith Umali. His daughter Christina San Diego and husband Art San Diego, his other son, Alex Umali and wife Grizelda Umali, his sister, Emma Sales, nine grandchildren and many close relatives and friends. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, the son of Gerardo Umali and Carmen Almonte. He attended MLQ University in Manila, Philippines for about 3 years and was an undergraduate. He met his wife, Estrella Umali at a party, married her in 1962 at the Manila Cathedral Church, Manila, Philippines. He worked at Magna Rubber Company for a period of 10+ years as a sales representative of the import and export division and later retired and migrated to the United States with his family in 1985. In his early years he loved playing basketball, this was his hobby for a very long time and later on did some coaching for a team. A music lover, he loves listening to all of Frank Sinatras greatest songs, Paul Anka, Tony Bennett and Elvis Presley. Memorial Location Not Available Friday 5/5, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
