Christopher Glenn Bodnar, 1971 - 2021. A committed husband, father, and loyal friend, Chris greeted all with a smile and a warm heart. Family first was his way; Chris cared deeply for his wife and children with great love and devotion. He learned to love family life at an early age, preparing him to share that same love with many others over the years. As a man of faith and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chris made sure to teach his children the sacred and valuable nature of a loving family. As a boy scout, Chris learned to love the outdoors like his father. He hiked all over the mountains and deserts of Southern California with his fellow scouts and family, exploring nature and appreciating its beauty. Chris shared a love for music and greatly enjoyed singing, a skill learned during his childhood. From all sorts of sporting activities including basketball, football, volleyball, golf, surfing, water skiing, and snow skiing, Chris would give anything a try. He was a devoted friend and protector of his siblings, always fulfilling his older brothers role to defend them at all costs. Chris's friendships were a critical part of his life. Surrounding himself with great friends helped him make great decisions. After graduating from Saddleback High School, Chris chose to serve a two-year mission for his church. He was called to serve in the Tacoma, Washington mission. This was a pivotal point in his life that strengthened his capacity to serve and care for others. Shortly after his mission service, he met and married the love of his life, Denise Shepherd, in the Salt Lake City temple. Together they have five beautiful children who have forever been the focus of Chris's love and attention. Chris was very mechanically-minded. He was always working on his cars, and he was the first person the family would reach out to with any tech-related questions. Chris could troubleshoot any kind of audio/visual/technical equipment blindfolded…a valuable skill when you have "adult" parents with smartphones. Chris successfully led G&S Associates, a business founded by his maternal grandfather for whom he was named, for many years. Christopher is survived by his wife, Denise; children McKayla, Bryant, Victoria, Lana, and Alyse; parents Charles and Jan; siblings Dawn, Mark, Patrick, Shannon, Jennifer, Amber…and a much-loved dog, Levi. Chris is also survived by a host of people who celebrate his life and cherish shared memories. Chris's lifetime of service and love continues…and he will forever watch over and care for his family and friends from his heavenly home.
