Cynthia Ren Kleven was the first and only child born to Barbara Arlene Black and Cornelius Aldolf Kleven Jr. A 7lb 13oz beautiful baby girl born on February 2, 1956, at St. Vincents Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Cindy was an easy child to take care of, she loved other children and loved to play. Her mother described her as “a follower not a leader, probably because she never had any other children in the home, but she got along well with her playmates.” At the age of 7, her parents got a divorce. She described this as a very sad time in her life but it grew to be a blessing. Both her parents ended up remarrying and through this, she gained a stepfather, stepmother, two half-brothers, a half-sister, and two stepbrothers. Cindy loved children and loved to babysit. From an early age, she always said she wanted a large family. After high school, she worked in a preschool where she put that love of children into a career. In the summer of 1974, Cindy attended a BYU Youth Conference which was not only a fun experience but also a time that sparked the growth of her testimony. During the summers she would go to Disneyland and go dancing, go to the beach to tan, and kept her social calendar full of activities with friends and suitors. It was at this time she blossomed into a social butterfly and lived the “most fun years of her life.” According to Cindy, in November 1977 John Davey “came in the pictureand swept [her] off [her] feet.” John and Cindy were engaged at the Disneyland Hotel on January 5, 1978. Cindy knew he was the one and they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on April 8, 1978. Cindys joy in life was creating memories with her five children and 18 grandchildren. Some of their fondest memories include the many trips to Disneyland, sharing her love of sweets, watching hours of game shows and many card games. The grandchildren lovingly named her “Amy Grandma” and she would never find her without a smile on her face or a tic-tac nearby. Cindy was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her simple and pure faith made her an exemplary disciple of Christ. This faith made her an asset to any and all callings whether a member of a committee to a president of an auxiliary. She willingly served but openly admits that “Primary is where her heart is.” Cindy graduated to the spirit world on January 2, 2023, surrounded by her spouse and her children. Cindy is survived by her GREATEST blessings: Her eternal companion, John Her 5 Children: Stacey [Marcus] Paxman, Jeff [Brittany] Davey, Mike [Courtney] Davey, Jill [Paul] Duncan, Amy [Carl] Bingham Her 18 Grandchildren: Isaac Paxman, Kevin Paxman, Scarlett Paxman, Brydee Davey, Jay Jay Davey, Bailee Davey, Brielle Davey, Jax Davey, Faith Davey, Hyrum Davey, Kaelyn Duncan, Austin Duncan, Reed Duncan, Sadie Duncan, Ava Duncan, Dean Bingham, Deacon Bingham and Reagan Bingham.
