Obituary

Bob Stiffler passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 16, 2026. He was born on June 24, 1949, and spent his early years, high school, and college years in Glenwillard, PA.

Bob was drafted into the Us Army in 1971 during the Vietnam era and made the Army a career choice. After 21 years in the Army, he retired as a First Sergeant in Recruiting in Santa Maria, CA. During his career in the Army, he received numerous awards including CA State recruiter of the year. From there he went onto a successful career in the insurance business.

Bob was the three-time Post Commander and lifetime member of the American Legion Post 328 in Norco, CA, and Past Chef de Gare for the 40&8. He is also a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Santa Maria Elks.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patricia (Mihalyi) Stiffler. He was the cherished father of Nicole Ponce and Kristina Stiffler (Juan) and Grandpa Bob to Rosemary, Amara, Luna, Belinda, and Valentina. Also survived by brother Harold Stiffler (Deborah) and sisters Lee Ann Plish and Laurie Stiffler, many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Dean Garcia.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Clarence Stiffler, and Margaret Dixon and by brothers, John (Butch) Homko and Arthur (Artie) Stiffler.

Bob was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions fan.

Funeral services and Celebration of Life on Thursday, 07/02/2026 at 12pm-1pm at Thomas Miller Mortuary, 1118 E Sixth St, Corona, CA. A full military honors service will follow at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518, at 2:15 pm. Reception to follow immediately after at American Legion Post 328, 3888 Old Hamner Rd., Norco, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name can be made to the 40&8 Nurses Training Program, which awards scholarships to veterans’ sons and daughters who plan a career in the nursing field. To donate:
