Joseph ‘Craig’ Lowery, known as Craig to his friends and family, passed away at the age of 66 on July 1st, 2024, in the city of Corona, CA.

Craig was born on December 12th, 1957, in Corona, CA to Joseph Samuel Lowery and JoAnn Lowery. Like his father, Craig spent his entire life in the city of Corona where he attended Corona High School and later had a lengthy career as a correctional officer for Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Craig followed the enduring family tradition of a career in law enforcement, preceded by both his Grandfather Joseph “Joe” S. Lowery, the Chief of Police for the Corona Police Department, and his father Joseph Samuel “Sam” Lowery who served as the Chief Deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and also served the Corona Police Department.

Craig met the love of his life Teresa in 1981 in the south Corona community of El Cerrito, CA at the El Cerrito café. They were married November 13, 1982.

Craig and Teresa couldn’t wait to start a family of their own and their children and subsequent grandchildren meant the world to them.

Craig loved his role as a devoted father very much, and he really flourished in the role of grandparent. Craig treasured every minute of his time with his grandkids James and Katalina and loved being their “Papa”.

Everyone who knew Craig knew how much he loved sports, especially the Los Angeles Angels and the Green Bay Packers. However, the one thing Craig loved more than sports was to cook for his loved ones, always ensuring everyone had an overflowing plate of delicious food prepared with a loving heart. Cooking was indeed Craig’s love language and passion. In fact, as an active member of Crossroads Christian Church in Corona, Craig enjoyed volunteering his time cooking meals for the less fortunate.

Craig is preceded in death by his parents Sam and JoAnn Lowery and his brother Robert Lowery.

Craig is survived by his wife Teresa, his daughters Kelly Lowery and Nicole Lowery and son Bryan Lowery, his grandchildren James and Katalina, as well as his sisters Sharon (Lowery) Kensinger, Marla (Lowery) Wsiaki, Teresa (Lowery) Costa, nieces and nephews, his Aunt Alice Lowery and Stepmother Charlotte Boyter - Lowery.

A private celebration of Craig’s life will be held at a later date and time.
