David “Dave” Lee Roekle

Dave Roekle was born in 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan and went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2015 in Corona, California due to heart failure. His father, Gerald, preceded him in death. In Michigan Dave leaves behind his mother, Elaine and his sister Patricia Turner and husband, Tom and son, Tommy. Dave married the love of his life, Lucille (Lucy) Shreiner in 1969. They left Michigan in 1971 settling in California. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Brad, married to Michaela, and Kristy married to Jeret. Lucy and Dave have five precious grandchildren, Adelyn, Judah, Braven, Aaron, and Joshua. Not only did Dave Lucy find the sun in sunny California but also they both found the Son, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Becoming Christians changed everything for the Roekles. Dave worked in many varied occupations but the most rewarding was that of being assistant pastor for a church in San Jose. Since then, whatever work Dave pursued to provide for his family, he did “as unto the Lord.” He has worked as an electrical apprentice, in real estate, computer sales, graphic design, an inventor and entrepreneurto name a few. As Lucys multiple sclerosis advanced Daves primary concern was to take care of her. He always said that was the ministry God gave to him and he considered it a blessing and privilege from the Lord. It was amazing to see how the Lord always provided the necessary employment to do just that. He took wonderful, loving care of his wife. Dave will be deeply missed. His church family, Living Truth Christian Fellowship of Corona, will miss him. His friends will miss his fellowship, his prayers and counsel. His grandchildren will miss their papa. Brad and Kristy will miss their dad, and Lucy misses her best friend and beloved husband. We all look forward to the grand reunion that awaits us in heaven.
