Debra Luckey (also known as Debbie Luckey) was born on February 8, 1957 in Compton, CA and passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2021 in Corona, CA. She had a bold and playful spirit, living her life unapologetically. She always loved a good adventure, like the time she talked her daughter into playing ding-dong ditch at a hotel in San Diego. They both ran up and down the hallways, rang each doorbell, and hid away from the disgruntled guests. Apparently, the people at the front desk were watching them on the security cameras, and they all had a good laugh. Debra had a sensitive and caring heart, but was also strong willed. She never let anyone tell her she couldn't do something. As tiny as she was, she would take on the biggest tasks-like the time she thought she could move a refrigerator all on her own. She was also adamant on taking care of others, starting with her daughter and grandchildren. Debra used this strength to become a caregiver to her mother (Martha "Ann" Luckey), the people in her community, and the neighborhood dogs. She loved animals-especially dogs. Throughout the years, she had many different pets, such as: cats, dogs iguanas, hawks, and cockatiels. She also had such a green thumb. She could take a plant that looked completely dead and nurture it back to life. Debra loved gardens and fountains, and she would sit outside for hours planting, watching the hummingbirds, and reading her favorite novels (such as romance and mystery books). She also loved watching her TV shows such as CSI, Law and Order, and Magnum PI. Debra was family oriented. Sometimes, she would steal her grandchildren away for the weekend, and say something along the lines of "Let's go on an adventure and get into some trouble!" Although, her idea of ‘getting into trouble' usually led them to the beach, where they would explore the tide pools and have picnics in the sand. She was also carefree and loved to blast her country music in the kitchen, singing and dancing along to each song (despite everyone's pleas to change the music). During family gatherings, she loved to cook for everyone. She was so good at taking a bunch of random ingredients and turning them into amazing dishes. Debra has been the greatest adventure in the lives of those who loved her. Her Daughter and family will be having a Celebration of Life at 26125 Plumcot Dr., Corona CA 92883 on Sunday, March 28th, at 1:00 pm for those who would like to attend.
