Diane Mauk

Diane Mauk of Corona, CA, 88, was welcomed into the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ on November 15, 2016. Diane was born in Lincoln, NE to Al and Veldie Hurlburt and raised in Norfolk, NE. Diane graduated from Norfolk Junior College with honors. She married Francis “Gene” Mauk and they raised four children in Norfolk. Diane and Gene owned and operated the Brass Lantern restaurant until their retirement in 1993 when they moved to Vista, CA. She was an avid golfer and tennis player into her 80s. She loved to travel, read and play Bridge. She was very active in her church. In 2015 Diane moved to Estancia del Sol retirement community where she developed many rich friendships. Diane is survived by her brothers Kent (Jane) Hurlburt and Dick (Kathi) Hurburt and by her children Dan (Linda) Mauk of Nebraska City, NE; Kathryn (Bill) Gill of San Antonio, TX; Lori (Darold) Goodrich of University Place, WA; and Peggy (Jim) Adaskaveg of Riverside, CA. Diane loved her ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, a sister, JoAnn Schulte and brother Jack Hurlburt. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, humble servant. A celebration of Dianes life will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, in Corona on Monday, November 21st at 1:00 PM. Diane prefers memorials to benefit Peace Lutheran Church, 280 E.
