Donald D Penrod

Donald D. Penrod Don passed away on August 6, 2015 in Riverside and was born December 14, 1929 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Solomon B and Sarah Ann Downs Penrod. He was the last of five children. Don served his country proudly in the US Army as a very young man in the lat 1940s and early 1950s as a MP (military police officer), serving in both the US and Panama. He joined the US Air Force in approximately 1951 in Alabama. Don served in the USAF as an aircraft technician working on B-52s, in many places in the US, including Florida Maine and served in Korea and Vietnam during the war. He retired as a Sr. Master Sergeant at March AFB in California. Don married Jean Barnes on Dec. 22, 1951 in Sylacauga, Alabama, they had three children; Donna Kathryn “Kathy”, Sandra Jean and Donald D. Penrod, Jr. (deceased). Don married Virginia Bell Schram on Dec. 4, 1968, and is survived by her, as well as a daughter, Karen Schram Hsu, and a son David Schram, and 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Don was much loved by his family and will be missed by all. Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:00 AM at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery.
