Don Pedersen, a devoted husband to his sweetheart Vicki, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, passed away on February 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and unwavering love.
For over 34 years, Don dedicated himself to mentoring and guiding hundreds of young men as a Scoutmaster. His influence extended far beyond Scouting. He taught discipline, hard work, leadership, compassion, and honor—not just through words, but by the way he lived each day. He had a rare ability to see the potential in others and push them to become their best selves, often believing in them before they even believed in themselves.
He had a deep connection with and love for the outdoors, adventure, and the lessons nature teaches, which became the backdrop for so many transformative experiences. His family and countless others fondly remember the camping and backpacking trips, hikes, and bear encounters, but most of all, they remember the wisdom, humor, and stalwart example of a man who truly cared for them. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he taught, and the love he so freely gave.
Don’s impact is best reflected in the words of those who knew him: "One of the most influential men in my life." "He taught us to be better." "He saw me for me and believed in me more than I did myself." "The toughest, most humble person I ever met." "He left a lasting impression on me and my life, which has gone on to affect so many others."

Those who have fond memories of Don can share them on his obituary page rather than during the service. These memories will be a cherished tribute for his family and all who loved him.
One of Don’s greatest gifts was his deep and refined relationship with God. He understood God’s plan for him in a way few ever do. As a lifelong, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Don lived with faith, purpose, and love. Though we grieve his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he fulfilled his purpose and has returned home to his Heavenly Father.
His was a life well-lived, and his legacy will endure in the countless lives he touched.
