Dorothy Irene Ray

February 25, 1922 — March 15, 2015

Dorothy Irene Ray. “Where forth he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Eph. 5:14 On February 25, 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a beautiful child was born to the late Dora and Oscar Mills. Dorothy met and married her military husband, Corporal Jack Ray on September 21st, 1940. The marital service was held by her father, an ordained minister. After praying for a child for well over a decade, God blessed her with an only child, who was born in the spring of 1955. In 1960, five years after the birth of her son Scott, the family moved to California where she worked at Riverside City College as a student placement Director. After nearly two decades she resigned from that position to care for her disabled husband Jack. The couple were lifetime devout Christians and during the mid-eighties, she started the ministry we now know as Dorothy Ray International Ministry. In 1987 Dorothys first missionary trip was to Israel where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She next journeyed to Africa with a missionary team consisting of several medical professionals and ministers, who together, held crusades and ministered at various locations. Throughout her life, as an ordained minister, she wrote several dozen books, held spiritual seminars and married numerous loving couples. During her three decades of ministry her counselling saved countless marriages, uncountable souls and through the lord, she gave energy to hundreds of tired hearts. While travelling to 43 countries she personally and spiritually touched the lives of thousands of people throughout the world. Dorothy is survived by her only child Scott as well as two granddaughters, one step-grandson, three great grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren and hundreds of spiritual daughters and sons. Dorothys memorial service will be held at Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary, on March 26th, 2015 at 11.30 am. She will be buried in Riverside National Cemetery, beside her loving husband Jack.
