Dorothy Lucile Chapman Flanagan passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, in Corona, Calif. She was born May 18, 1927, in Natrona Heights. Her parents were Dwight Leonard Chapman Sr. and Lucile Verdell Cosby. Her favorite childhood memory was working at the ice cream counter at her fathers pharmacy in Tarentum, Chapmans Drug Store. She was a 1945 graduate of Har-Brack High School and received her bachelors degree from Muskingum College in 1949. She was predeceased by three husbands, Richard Coulter Brown Jr., Paul Leo Songer and Paul Gerard Flanagan; her parents; and her brother, Dwight Chapman Jr. She is survived by four children, Richard Brown III (Janie), of Crestline, Calif., Jean Brown, Jim Brown (Toom), and Ruth Brown, all of Norco, Calif. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Cooper, of Duluth, Ga.; and a grandson, Richard E. Brown, of Crestline, Calif. Dorothy lived half of her life in Natrona Heights, working as a substitute teacher and then as a Montessori teacher. She was also past president of the areas Womens Club and the Civic Club. She moved to Corona/Norco, Calif. in the 1970s, where she worked as a teacher in both private and public schools. She returned to college to earn her special education training and spent 10 years in the Chino Unified School District. Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge and Corona United Methodist Church in Corona, Calif.
