Dustin Tyler Ricks Born on August 27, 1987 Passed away on May 2, 2022 Those years in between were way to short. Dustin was a smart energetic, curious child who loved building and making things. He liked learning how to take things apart, figuring out how they worked and rebuilding them. Always an active boy, he enjoyed riding his bike or his longboard skateboard, swimming, fishing, camping, surfing, snowboarding and skiing. Later in his life he excelled in playing pool, joining several leagues. His Grandpa Skip and Grandpa Carol loved him so much. They taught him to fish, among many other things. They took him on a month long camping trip to the Pacific Northwest and had a great time. After graduating from High School, he unfortunately was a victim of crime, leaving him a paraplegic. Knowing he needed a career that he could do in a wheelchair. He choose to attend "The Fab School", learning to weld and fabricate metals. He eventually furthered his education with a CNC training program learning to incorporate the use of computer technology into fabrication. He was passionate about fabricating with metal and it reflected in his work. One of his accomplishments was helping in the build of an amazing off-road racecar. Throughout the years Dustin worked at several engineering facilities. Shortly before passing away, Dustin was hired by "The Fab School" working as a fabrication instructor. It was his dream job, he was in his element. Even though he was very happy at his job, his unattended physical and emotional pains were too much. He tried to deal with them in unhealthy ways, leading to irreversible organ damage. Dustin will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
