Dwight "Duke" Melbourne Ottinger, of Corona California, passed away on March 24th, 2023 at the age of 91. Duke was born in St Louis Missouri and moved to California to purse his education and attend Fresno State College, where he would meet his lovely wife, Lydia. Duke, the owner and founder of Ottinger Display Co. Inc., a Christmas dcor and holiday display company operated in Corona for 50 years. Duke was an adventurous, creative and spirited individual who had many interests. He loved to write, cook, travel, sing, sketch, paint and play his harmonica. As young man in St. Louis, he was an avid boxer, and was a light heavy weight state champion. A member of Corona Lion's club for over 50 years, a member of the Knight of Columbus and a choir member at St. Edwards Church. He is survived by: Lydia his wife of 68 years, Son Steve 67 (wife Maria, grandchildren Jonathan, Kristopher, Sarah and Stevie), Son John (wife Annette, grandchildren Jessica & Daniel) and Daughter Pamela (husband Dave, grandchildren Paige & Carson). Duke was predeceased in death by his grandson Steven D.A. Ottinger. Viewing will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary 1118 E 6th St, Corona, CA 92879 on Wednesday April 19th at 3:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 20, at 10:00 am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 417 W Grand Blvd, Corona, CA 92882. A reception will follow at the Corona Elks Lodge 912 E 6th St, Corona, CA 92879.
