Edward John Goerlinger, 45, of Corona, California, died May 26, 2017 in Ontario, California. He was born July 10, 1971 in Anaheim, California son of Edward Leroy Goerlinger and Virginia Kay Hutt. Eddie grew up in Orange, graduating from El Modena High School and furthered his education at Orange Coast College. Eddie worked as a Maintenance Manager for over 23 years. He loved sports,and enjoyed golf, slow pitch softball and off roading; he was an Angels baseball fanatic, as well as a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Eddie touched many lives over the years, with his love for baseball and his service in the baseball/softball community. He was President of the Norco Girls Softball team from 2001-2004; Vice President of Eastvale Little League 2004-2006; he served as President of Eastvale Little League 2006-2012; and coached girls softball, little league, and 2 travel baseball teams. He was also a big supporter of the Eleanor Roosevelt High School Athletics. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Kathryn “Michele” Goerlinger of Eastvale; mother, Ginger (Tim) Burch; father, Ed (Kathy) Goerlinger; Daughter, Kayley Goerlinger-22 ; Son, Jacob Goerlinger-18; Son, Grant Goerlinger-15; Brother, Todd (Julie) Goerlinger; Nieces, Madison Maci Goerlinger; step-brother, Jon (Stephanie) Burch and their daughter Rachel Burch. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Thomas Miller Mortuary and Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mel Catholic Church in Norco on Friday, June 17 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers we ask simply for donations for an athletic scholarship fund that is being set up in Eddies name at Roosevelt High School. Checks can be made to Eastvale Expos Sports which is a non profit that Eddie has set up and will be used to pay for the scholarship until we can get the non profit name changed.
