Edward Ernest Waldron

May 22, 1942 — June 1, 2016

Edward Ernest Waldron entered this world on May 22, 1942 in Ossining, New York. He passed into eternity on June 1, 2016 in Corona, California. After spending his younger years in New York, where he was able to see his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers play, his family moved to California, including his sister Dorothy and her husband Maurice White and parents George and Vivian. He graduated from Riverside Poly High School in 1960, and then attended Mt. San Antonio College until 1962. On August 1st, 1962 the 20-year-old Ed married 18-year-old Patricia Morgan. They proceeded to have 3 children, Debbie, George, and Scott. After moving around Southern California with a brief stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, they settled in Yorba Linda, Ca. After his divorce from Pat he relocated to the Corona/Riverside area, where he has resided for the past 27 years. In 1989 he met Kathleen Smith, and though never married, was with her until his death this past Wednesday. Ed battled alcoholism for many years, but was finally able to be victoriously sober in 2007. He was always a great salesman and quite the people person and those qualities were never more evident than when he started working at the Corona Serenity Club in 2009. He worked the snack bar, held fundraisers for the club, worked closely with the Norco and Corona Chambers of Commerce, and spoke publicly from time to time about his own battles with addiction. He was much loved in his community. One of the greatest things he did was in helping other recovering alcoholics to stay sober, having lived through the destructiveness of that disease in his own family life. His family and friends alike will sorely miss him. His parents and their firstborn son George precede him in death. He is survived by his sister, his children and their grandchildren, as well as his life partner and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. in Corona, California at Thomas Miller Mortuary located at 1118 E. Sixth St. Reception to follow at Corona Chamber of Commerce, 904 E. 6th St. Service Location Not Available Saturday 6/4, 11:30 am Corona Chamber of Commerce Saturday 6/4, 1:00 pm
