Edward Lee Mote, Jr.

Edward Lee Mote, Jr., 84, of Corona, California, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025. Born on February 29, 1940, in Marietta, Georgia, Eddie grew up in the small town where his love for life and country began. A proud member of the U.S. military, Eddie attended North Georgia College while also serving in the Marine Reserves. After two years of college and reserve duty, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served as a navigator on a B-52 bomber. He achieved the rank of Captain and was honorably discharged after his dedicated service.

Following his time in the military, Eddie moved to California, where he embarked on a successful 40-year career in the automotive industry. When he wasn’t working, Eddie enjoyed golfing and bowling, where he formed lasting friendships and created cherished memories.

After his retirement, Eddie dedicated much of his time to giving back to the community, volunteering with the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Riverside for 17 years. His leadership was evident as he served as both Worthy President and Worthy Trustee, earning the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Joan; his daughters Sharlynn (Jon), Cherise (Roque), and Joie-Rae (Jeffrey); his son Lou (Liza); and his 14 grandchildren, Samantha, Jack, Jaeya, Jaelle, Jareaux, Sabrina, Taylor, Andrew, Tylor, Savannah, Aaliyah, Alanah, Ari, and Amayah. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael, and his beloved granddaughter, Emma.

Eddie's family, friends, and all who knew him will remember him as a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend. His dedication to his family, his country, and his community leaves a lasting legacy.
