Elvira Reyes Rementilla

June 3, 1951 — April 13, 2020

Loving grandmother, mother, sister, and friend, Elvira Rementilla, at the age of 68, went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 13, 2020. She passed away due to underlying health complications at Riverside Community Hospital. Born on June 3, 1951 in Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines to Policarpio and Amparo Reyes, she is the second sibling of 7 sisters and 4 brothers. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Education from Manuel L. Quezon University on January 27, 1973. She was wed to Danilo Rementilla on June 10, 1973 and had their only son Dennis. When her husband was active U.S military, they resided in the states of Hawaii and Virginia. In Virginia, she worked for an electronics company and loved driving her Volkswagen Beetle. After her husband retired from service, they eventually resided in Corona, California. Unfortunately, in 1992 a stroke left her disabled with left sided weakness. Despite her disability, she was able to persevere and strived to be as independent as she can. She returned to Virginia to be cared for by her siblings for many years. Eventually returning to California to be cared for by her son and daughter-in-law. Within the past 11 years she was able to enjoy 5 trips to the Philippines which included her son's wedding and spending time with family. Last year she was able to return to Virginia to enjoy time with her siblings during a summer vacation. Known by her grandchildren as "Lola One", she loved them dearly and never forgot their birthdays. She was generous with what she had and was quick to say, "Go ahead take one!". During the NBA season she loved watching basketball especially the Golden State Warriors or any team that played against Lebron James. Her favorite televisions shows were on The Filipino Channel (TFC) called "Showtime" and "Ang Probinsyano". Being strong in her faith, she enjoyed reading her Daily Word and was eager to give her tithe during Sunday service at St. Matthews. When you're in tune with her sense of humor she had a boisterous laugh and when you are kidding with her, she would give you a hard pinch wherever she can reach. She is survived by her husband, Danilo; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Donna; grandchildren, Donovan and Danica; siblings and their spouses Loida and Alberto Dasmarinas, Rebecca Reyes, Marilyn Reyes, Vivian De Leon, Alma and Jerry Huddleson, and Ener and Grace Reyes; nieces Maria Cristina, Julie Ann, Rossana, Rona-Lynn, Jevie, and Dally Rose; nephews Gerardo, Roger, Manuel, Marvin, and Jan Thomas. With her new heavenly body, we know she is walking freely in the presence of our Heavenly Father and Loved Ones. We Love You and Miss You dearly. Until we meet again.
