Emily Rodriguez Narveson A.K.A. Amelia R Elias Born March 30, 1926 in Tollerburg, Colorado (a small mining town), passed away March 18, 2023 less than 2 weeks from her 97th birthday. She moved to Corona, California with her family in August of 1936. She attended Washington primary school, Corona, Corona Jr. High, Corona High School and Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. She joined the Woman's Army Corp (W.A.C.) in 1949. She married Corporal Carlos R. Salazar, and they were stationed in Japan where she worked for General MacArthur. She got an honorable discharge and Carlos was sent to Korea. She excelled in Math and as a dictation shorthand typist and worked for Beckman Scientific Instruments until she retired. She married Donald O. Narveson and moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. where she worked for Morrell Meat packing plant in the clerical department, then she moved to Bullhead City, AZ. until her husband, Donald's death, then moved back to Corona, Riverside area. She was preceded in death by parents Jesus and Maria Rodriguez, her husband Carlos Salazar and second husband Donald Narveson, son Martin E. Narveson. She is survived by her sister Viola Rodriguez of Colton. Her children, Ramona Salazar of Moreno Valley, Donna Murillo of Corona, Mark Narveson of Sioux Falls, SD and Carol Young of Keller, TX. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She loved gardening, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Girl Scouts of America. She was also a devoted Catholic.
