Emmi Sylvestre

August 28, 1926 — March 24, 2020

Emmi Sylvestre, also known as Oma and Grandma was born on Aug 28th 1926 in Biedenkopf Germany and died at home in Corona in the arms of her family on Mar 24 2020. Emmi lived with her three sisters until she made the courageous venture to the United States at the age of 25. She met her husband, Alban Sylvestre in New York and married several years later in Nevada. They had two children, Bernard and Denise. Emmi was a hard worker, and after working for Blue Cross for many years she then retired from FedEx. Emmi had a love for nature and enjoyed the simple things in life such as a campfire under the stars, stopping to smell every colorful flower, and listening to the birds sing at her windowsill. She enjoyed cooking traditional German meals and plenty of desserts for her family to enjoy. She expressed her love through her cooking and made sure everyone was always well fed. Emmi placed everyone else's needs before her own; she always wanted her family to be happy. She believed in the goodness of God and decided to get baptized at 90 years old, to openly confirm her love of Jesus. She was known for her ability to love and accept everyone as they are. We should learn from the example that she was and do the same. Emmi was preceded in death by her parents, Bernhardt and Erna, her husband Alban and son Bernard. Her sisters, Brunhilda and Liesel. Emmi is survived by her sister Ursula, daughter Denise, and step son Alban, who she had a special relationship with. There are 4 grandchildren Amanda, Bobby, Jason & Kevin as well as two step granddaughters Nicole and Marissa. There are also two step great grandchildren who she loved, Dylan and Lennon.
