Estella was born on May 2, 1924, in Nodaway Iowa to Thelma and Charles Bomar; she had 2 brothers, Robert and Randall. Estella was mother to 3 boys and 1 girl; Delbert, Dale, David, and Letty. She had 7 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and even multiple great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. These numbers do not include the many others who not only called her grandma but certainly shared space in her heart; her legacy is plentiful. Estella lived a long, beautiful life; she always found joy, even in the face of diversity and pain. In her lifetime there were wars, economic depression, and many personal losses; still, she always found her way to hope, joy, and laughter. She married twice, first to Earl Sare, father to her children; to hear her tell it, it was love at first sight. She met him while working in her Mother's restaurant and it wasn't long before it was her happily ever after. But as fate would have it, their story was cut short when Earl passed at age 60. Though she mourned him for the rest of her life, Estella continued to seek out joy. Estella threw herself into social and artistic pursuits. She baked and sold wedding cakes, she drove for the local transportation company "Dial a Ride", and she learned to square dance. She made the most beautiful dresses for square dancing, complete with ruffled underskirts; and it was at those dances that she met her second husband, Clyde Reed. While he could never take Earl's place, he provided her companionship for most of her remaining days. Never one to be left behind, Estella embraced the advancement of technology. She was surely in her 80's when she taught the "seniors" at her church how to use a computer! Her use of social media was infamous, she was always thanking people for sending her pictures (the ones that showed up in her Facebook feed). As life slowed down, Estella stayed close to family and friends through your posts and photos of your lives, she loved each one as she loved you all. Anyone who knew Estella can attest to her smile and laughter. Never one to miss a party or celebration, always wanting to share in the joys of life. Her presence will be dearly missed.
