Flordeliza C Prospero

August 17, 1945 — September 21, 2022

Flordeliza "Flor" Prospero was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She went to Heaven unexpectedly on September 21, 2022 at age 77. Flor was born on August 17, 1945 to Pedro and Remigia Cristobal in Isabella, Philippines. She was the eldest daughter and one of 10 siblings. The family was raised on a farm and she would always reminisce and share stories about how much land and crops they had growing up. She attended college in Manila at the University of Santo Tomas and earned her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Flor soon met her husband Restituto "Resty" in December 1966 when they were introduced by their mutual friend, Claude Aranillo, at a party. On the same day that they met, Flor invited Resty to a picnic with friends and the rest is history. They were married on January 27, 1969 and together had 3 children. One year into being married and with $600 to their name, the newlyweds decided to embark on a bold, new adventure by moving to the United States, the land of opportunity, to build a new life for their young family. They settled in California and once they became U.S. citizens, worked hard to sponsor numerous family members to immigrate to the United States so they can also experience the same opportunities they had. The life Flor and Resty built together is the epitome of the American dream and seeing those extended family members thrive and live out their own American dream will be one of Flor's greatest legacies. Flor's career was in the banking industry. Although she was a pharmacist by education, she sacrificed by working nights so she could be home to raise her children. Her hard work and dedication paid off and she was able to retire early at 55 years old. Flor loved to travel in retirement. Together with Resty, they spent the last two decades regularly cruising around the world and visiting far-away countries in Europe and Asia. Keeping up with her regular travel schedule was difficult since she was always going off to a new adventure. Flor loved God and her family. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ. Flor never missed her morning prayer time with God and she would pray for hours at a time. If there was an important family event, she was always there. She regularly participated in the lives of her grandchildren and was known to send daily text messages to all of her children and grandchildren to wish them all a "good morning". She always looked forward to the holidays, when all of her family would gather together at her home and there would always be plenty of food for everyone to eat. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Resty, her three children Floresita, Fleriza (Mike) and Raymond (Amy) and her seven grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa, Reagan, Avery, Cruz, Audrey and Elijah. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
