Frederick List

January 16, 1954 — June 3, 2022

Frederick "Fred/Freddy" List was born in Glendale, California on January 16, 1954, to Mercedes and Alegundo List. Growing up in Norwalk, he always played baseball and his dad was his coach; this taught him the structure and his tendency to coach/instruct both his sons and son in laws. During high school he played the saxophone in a band called the "Artistics". He was always very smart, and he graduated early when he was 16 from Downey High School and joined the Army shortly after at the age of 17. He met the love of his life, Kathleen (Kathy) Wilson at a dance club called the Kingstable, in which she could not resist his magical dance moves. They married on March 20, 1976, at St Boniface Catholic Church. During the course of their marriage, they produced a beautiful family, and his family meant everything to him. Over the years, he had many "hobbies" that he would be consumed with, but none more than golf. He developed a brotherhood of friends that loved the game as well. He was a jack of all trades; he was a cook/butcher, he made jewelry, became a dog groomer, upholsterer, etc. and finally went to school for water treatment. This is where he found his final step in his successful career as a Supervisor at the Los Angeles County Water District, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. He passed away on June 3rd, 2022, and is survived by:  Mother - Mercedes List Hines  Sisters - Debbie Chavez & Suzie Paloma  Brother - Paul List  Sons - Jonathon Vasquez & Gabriel List  Daughters - Alicia (Jauregui) List, Adaline (Lina Espinoza) List, Eileen (Saenz) List, and Alexandria (Alex) List  Grandchildren - Luis (Jr.) Porres, Sarena Espinoza, Jonathon Vasquez, Desirae Porres, Jaleigh Saenz, Jacob Navarro, Mathew Jauregui, Devin Ramos, Isabella Saenz, Brian Espinoza, Noryana Ramos, Jayden Quijada, Naomi Vasquez, Lyric Ramos, and Melody List  Great grandchildren - Jeremiah & Jordan Vasquez, and 2 more on the way Fred had a penchant to always go all in, and he lived his life to his fullest. He has touched so many lives and had a huge generous heart that will be missed deeply, but never forgotten.
