Gabriel Morettini, Age 81, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2021 He was born July 22, 1939, in Erie, PA. He was the son of the late Gabriel Morettini and Claudia (Tamarise) Morettini. He was the youngest son of their 10 children. He lived the early years of his life in Erie where he spoke fondly of his football days playing fullback as #23 for Erie's Technical High School where he graduated in 1958. After graduation he was inducted into the United States Army on March 3, 1959. He was stationed in Bad Kissinger, Germany and was a member of the Battery B 2D, Howitzer Battallion where he was a SP4-E4 in the 28th Artillery APO 330 until his honorable discharge on Feb. 20, 1961. Upon returning, he married his long time love, Anne Bruno on April 29, 1961. They had their first child Gabriel Anthony on March 15, 1962. They moved to California in March of 1963. Their second child, Mark Anthony was born on Oct. 20, 1963. They moved to Corona, CA in 1964 and welcomed their 3rd child Joseph Anthony on Nov. 29, 1965. They moved to their final home in Norco, CA in 1978. Gabriel was a painter the majority of his adult life while owning his painting contracting business, Morettini Painting from 1974 - 1999. He semi-retired from his business to be the "babysitter, bus driver, groundskeeper ,and resident chef" for his family where he continued to be paid with the love of his children and grandchildren. Family was everything for him. With that said, our competition for his time was a good game of solitaire and sifting and moving large piles of dirt from one end of the property to the other. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Morettini, Dulio Morettini, Louis Morettini and his sisters Inez Gonda, Judy Noonan and Helen Hair. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne (Bruno) Morettini; his siblings Eva Porter, Shirley Warren and Claudia Morettini; his children Gabriel, Mark and Joseph Morettini and their spouses Barbara, Kimberly and Deborah, and 10 grandchildren with their spouses and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gabriel was a master of one liners where "is that right?"was his lifelong motto since high school. Even the name of his last born child was not off limits"Eeny, meeny, miny moeGabe, Mark and Little Joe."Hence, Joseph Morettini was named. "Turn around" where we would all turn around when he would say it."Woah, woah, woah" instead of stop and he always wanted us to "get the watchamacallit in the garage behind the thing" There will be no services at this time.
