Gar Brewton

Gary F Brewton (known to most people as Gar) passed away at home in Riverside, CA where he has resided since 1979. Gar was 82. He was born to the late Clyde E. and Doris J. Brewton in Oklahoma City, OK. Gar was in the Civil Engineering /Land Development business for 60 years and owned a successful company for 40 of those 60 years. Gar enjoyed traveling, cruising, riding horses, collecting trains, boating, gardening, and the outdoors. Most of all he loved his family and his home. The Catholic faith was important to him, and he found a calling doing the prison ministries. Gar is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Jann; his children: daughter Christa and son Gary; as well as his granddaughter Taylor Jivanjee and grandson Quinn. He is also survived by his two brothers: Clyde and Don along with brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St Thomas the Apostle Church (Riverside, CA) on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11:00 am. Gar will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery in Orange, CA at a later date. This wonderful and cherished husband, father and grandfather will be missed by family and friends.
