Gayle Ellen Carter

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Gayle Ellen Carter, a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on June 6, 2021. She passed peacefully in the hospital due to congestive heart failure. She was in her 75th year, born July 19, 1945. She was a beloved wife to Royce Carter, married July 19, 2014. Survived by her son Patrick Hughes, daughter-in-law, Laura Galvan Hughes, grandchildren Tanley and Derek Hughes, brother David Stroup, nephew Scott Stroup, and sister Lori Willis (Little Feather). Gayle retired from the Press Enterprise after 40+ years, continued to live a full life loving her horse Star, 2 dogs, and 4 cats on her ranch in Norco, Ca. Truly a farm girl at heart. Later in life when she met her husband Royce, she found the love for dancing and church. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
