George Albert Pedroza Jr

March 26, 1948 — August 8, 2020

George Albert Pedroza Jr, 72, of Corona was called home on August 8, 2020. He was born in Los Angeles on March 26, 1948; three days before his beloved wife. He was born to George and Amelia Pedroza and has 4 sisters and 1 brother. He met his beloved wife in 1955 at St. Lucy's church in Los Angeles. St. Lucy's is the sacred place where they made their first communion at 7 years old which is one of many commitments they made to the Lord our God. Their relationship blossomed into love at the early age of 12. They walked hand in hand through childhood into young adulthood and their love continued to flourish. He wanted to join the Marines right out of high school but was not old enough and needed his mother's permission at 17 years old. His mother consented to sign for the US Navy or the United States Air Force. He chose to join the United States Air Force with a promise to Margaret that they would both write letters every day. His honorable service began on April 5, 1966 with the purpose of going to the Vietnam War. He attended Army Chemical School as well as the Naval School for Explosive Ordnance Disposal training to assist in his efforts to serve in Vietnam. During his time served, he reached a rank of Staff Sergeant with a specialty in Explosive Ordinance Disposal and was stationed in Galena, Alaska. His service concluded when he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force on February 6, 1970. He married the love of his life on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1970, at the Old San Gabriel Mission. They were married for 50 years this past Valentine's Day 2020. He then joined the Los Angeles Sheriff's department as a Deputy Sheriff. He took his role to protect and serve seriously and performed his duties with honor and pride. He retired from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department in 1983. A man of many talents, he then went on to be a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Orange where he was a designated spoke person for many city events and became a resource for other team members due to his articulate speaking and writing capabilities. He retired for the last time from the City of Orange in 2003. Following his retirement, he then went on and became a proud stay at home dad and grandfather, who loved to be involved in his children's and grandchildren's everyday lives. He led a life of pride, honor and integrity. His belief in our Lord was true and sincere. Everyone he encountered loved him and believed him to be larger than life. We were in awe of him and his wisdom; he was a great man of value. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, 5 beautiful daughters, 1 Goddaughter (Rhiannon), sons in law, his many grandchildren and extended family Raul and Carol Robles and other special friends.
