George R Montejano

George Ramirez Montejano November 23, 1937 - February 9, 2023 At age 85, George went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Lupe. Born to Gladys and Benjamin Montejano, he was a lifelong resident of Corona, where he met and married his childhood sweetheart and raised their four children. George attended Washington Elementary School, St. Edwards Catholic School, Corona High School, and proudly served in the National Guard. He worked at Liston Brick in Corona and Alcoa Aluminum in Corona until its closure. He went on to work for the Corona-Norco Unified School District's Corona Fundamental Intermediate School where he retired. George was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, going to the casinos and vacationing with his family. He was proceeded into heaven by his parents; brothers Ignacio (Della), Butch, Frank (Lena), Alfred (Rachel), Tony (Alice) and sisters; Dora Bravo (Cruz), Tina Benavides (Horacio), Margie Montejano and Carmen Ruiz. He is survived by his son George Jr. and wife Shirley; son Ruben; daughter Patty Cortez and husband Greg; daughter Vicky Galvan and husband Jesse; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sisters Lupe Enriquez (Copie), Rosie Felix (Bobby) and numerous family and friends. George was blessed to be married for a loving 52 years to Lupe Muro until she was taken home on September 28, 2010. As heartbroken as he was after Lupe, he gave his family a precious 12 years of happiness & memories they will hold deeply in their hearts. George had a kind and humble soul and a warm heart which touched the lives of all who knew him, especially his children. Although he will be deeply missed, knowing he is in the hands of the Lord and back in the arms of his love, Lupe, brings his family peace. Services will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona on Thursday, March 9th from 5:00pm- 8:00pm beginning with a Memorial service and concluding with a Rosary. A mass will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church on Friday, March 10th at 10:00am with a burial to follow at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery. A reception to honor George will be at the American Legion Hall, Joe Dominguez Post, following the burial until 4:00pm.
