Glenn Ray Reed

February 25, 1950 — March 26, 2017

Glenn Ray Reed was born in Inglewood, CA to James Wilson Violet Beatrice Reed. He was the twin to Glenda Robinson(Reed) and younger brother to William “Bill” and Jack Reed. He served his country proudly as a United States Army Sargent during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged in 1970. In 1973 he began working with the United State Postal Service in Lawndale, California and in 1974 he moved to Garden Grove to raise his only son Earl Lee Reed. He retired from the USPS after 36 years of service in 2012. Glenn Earl, nephew Ronald Robinson Jr best friend Tom Dirickson enjoyed many trips to Mammoth Lakes to camp, fish and hunt. Glenn and Earl were long time pass holders to Disneyland. He loved to share his stories of travels overseas and had a cheeky sense of humor. Glenn was also an avid antique coin stamp collector. Glenn Ray Reed passed away of natural causes on March 26, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson Violet Beatrice Reed; sister Glenda Robinson(Reed) brother Jack Reed. He is survived by his son, Earl Lee Reed and daughter in law Vickie Reed; brother William Reed, nephews Fred Reed, Robert Reed, Ronald Robinson Jr, nieces Wendy Barnes(Reed), Kimberley Coleman(Reed), Kris Reed, Gina DeRosa(Reed) and long time friend Tom Dirickson along with a host of beloved family and friends. In leiu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to any Diabetes foundation.
