Surrounded by her loving family, Gloria Mae Bennett, 83 of Menifee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 21, 2021. Gloria was born on August 3, 1937 in Bell, California, daughter of Lloyd and Etta (Watson) Waters. Gloria was raised up in the Lord by loving and devoted parents and lived a very happy childhood with her sisters June and Joy. Gloria graduated from Bell High School in 1955 where she was involved in Girls' League Council, Choir, Valkyrites vice president, Pep Club, Lettergilis treasurer, and the G.A.A. secretary. She was employed with the Los Angeles Junior College upon graduation. Shortly afterwards, she met Edmond K Bennett Jr. and was married on July 28, 1956. It was a match made in heaven for they shared together 65 years of marriage. Gloria and Ed welcomed their first child, Michael Dean on June 3, 1957. The Lord called Michael home 13 months later from an unforeseen illness. After which, Gloria was blessed with five more children: Terri, Kathi, Eddie, John and Jill. Gloria was a strong, vivacious, loving, passionate, funny, and gracious woman. Her smile and laugh were infectious to all those around her. She was a Godly woman who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her friends deeply and enjoyed many wonderful times with them all. God gave Gloria the gift of prayer as she was our prayer warrior. Gloria enjoyed traveling, making clothes and costumes for her children, sewing wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for family members, playing the piano, home decor, playing bunco weekly, and playing card games with her family. Gloria also had a natural talent for design and decorating which could be seen in her victorian style and shabby chic home. She belonged to a ladies tea group and enjoyed hosting afternoon teas with her dear friends and family. She was known for her scones and Devonshire cream. She was passionate about music and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, Ladies Ensemble, and Women's Barbershop Quartet while performing for church events and various other community events. Throughout her life, she was faithful to the Lord and church while teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Gloria was a member of the Grace Church of the Valley. Gloria had a big heart and always showed compassion and love to others. Her home was always open to family and friends and was always there with a meal and helping hands. Gloria leaves behind a faithful and loving husband along with a great legacy of God loving children. She will be greatly missed. Proverbs 31:10-12; 27-31 "Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." "Her children stand and bless her." Her husband praises her: "There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!" Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise." Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Etta Waters, infant son, Michael Dean, sisters June Garigliano, and Joy James. Gloria is survived by her husband Edmond K. Bennett Jr and her children Terri (Mike) Viotto of Henderson, Nevada, Kathi Smith of Chipley, Florida, Eddie (Laura) Bennett of La Vernia, Texas, John Bennett and Teresa of Bakersfield, California, and Jill (Kevin) Goedken of Menifee, California. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Melissa (JD), Michael, Jennifer (James), Nick (Paige), Tyler (Keira), Brittany (Chris), Erik, Samantha (Josh), Cody (Nicholas), Hollie (Jamison), Kayla, Kyle, Emily, Nicholas, and Katie. Great grandchildren: Axel, Scarlet, Amber Lyn, Rayne, Ryder, Anthony, Aurora, Hunter, Haley, Eve, Dean, Addison, Peyton, and the newest arrival to be: Harper. The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice and their staff, and Gloria's caregivers: Carrie, Kristin, and Lauren. A special thank you to her nurse, Sean, and caregiver, Lenore. You were there until the end of Gloria's journey, providing her with the care and love that she so deserved! Contact Family for Services.
