Grace Bertha James

Grace B. James passed away at the age of 95 in Riverside CA on 12/22/22. Born and raised in Evansville IN, she graduated from Indiana University with a business degree. In 1949 she married Myron B. James, her husband of 43 years, who preceded her in death in 1992. They settled in California, living in Redlands, Corona, and Riverside. As a young adult Grace worked secretarial positions and later did bookkeeping in her husbands law office. Grace enjoyed travel, cooking, art, and music. A lifelong Lutheran, she sang in the church choir for years. She stayed sharp playing Bridge and working on crossword puzzles. Always an optimist, she was devoted to her family and was strong in her faith. She never lost her enthusiasm for people and life. Survivors include 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 siblings. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverside, CA at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the church in remembrance of Grace.
