Guy Warren Lavender (75), of Corona, California, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends after a brief battle with cancer on Monday, February 27, 2023. Guy was a loving husband, devoted father, adoring grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. Guy was born May 4, 1947 in Seattle, Washington, the son of Jack and Betty Lavender. He graduated from Seattle's Cleveland High in 1965, then began his honorable career in the United States Marine Corps in 1971. "Top" proudly served his country for 25 years until late 1996. He retired as a Master Sergeant and veteran of the Gulf War. During his time in the Marine Corps, he fell in love and married Mary Lavender on April 20, 1991, and together they shared a beautiful life of 32 years. Anyone who met Guy, couldn't help being impacted by his infectious personality; he had a laugh that could fill a room, stories that could go on for days, and a demanding presence that made you aware you were amongst a leader. Guy loved life, especially traveling, landscaping, entertaining family and friends, fantasy football, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Christmas was his favorite holiday and Guy always made it special for everyone in his life. Those left to carry on his memory are: his wife Mary Lavender, children Michael (Allison) Lavender, Julie (Terry) Grimes, stepson Rory (Karina) Osbrink, grandchildren Kaylee and Kaitlynn Osbrink, Dawson, Jack and Annabelle Lavender, Lenox Pedersen-Osbrink and Theodora Grimes, sister Linda Lavender-Jacobsen, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
