Hazel Oleta Wallace

July 31, 1929 — December 21, 2023

Hazel Wallace was born on July 31st, 1929 to Minnie Wallace and Sterling Wallace in Panola County, De Berry, Texas. Hazel was educated in the Panola County School System during the mid 30s and late 40s and worked in the medical field as a Nurse.

Hazel married the late Wilbert James Veasey, Sr. and to that union 8 children were born. Hazel was a devoted wife and mother. She moved to Los Angeles in 1951 and remained there for over 30 years. Hazel was a strong and beautiful mother who was well known and loved by family and friends in the community of Los Angeles, California. Hazel’s second oldest daughter, Wilma Stokes McClain moved her mother to Riverside County in 2019. In addition to a family who loved her dearly, her last four years were filled with the attention and an abundance of love from her daughter Wilma Stokes McClain and her son in law Michael McClain who cared for her day and night selflessly.

She was preceded in death by four children: Oliver James Veasey, Maverick Carl Veasey, Helen Faye Veasey, and Anganetta Veasey. She leaves four children to mourn: Johnnie Marie Little and husband Jerry Little of Greensboro, North Carolina; Wilma Dolores Stokes McClain and her husband Michael McClain of Corona, California; Wilbert James Veasey, Jr. of Dallas Texas; and Kenneth Gavin Veasey of Los Angeles. Hazel will also leave a host of grandchildren; Robert Booker, Laquinta Herbin; Elmarco King of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Johnny King of Los Angeles, California. Tonsinetta Green of Eastvale, California; Shanetta Stokes of Eastvale California; and Michelle Sanchez of Corona, California. Lorenzo Clay Jr. of Los Angeles, California; DeAngelo Clay of Los Angeles, California. Shereeda Veasey Thomas of San Diego California; Shanette Veasey of Los Angeles California; and Semmi Veasey of Los Angeles California; Sammiyyah Veasey; and Semaj Veasey, of Los Angeles, California. She will also leave an abundance of great grandchildren.

Hazel will be missed and will remain in our hearts with her Angelic Spirit surrounding us. She is now resting with the Father. We may have lost our Mother and Grandmother, but we have gained an Angel.

Rest in Heaven, We Love you.
