Hazel “Vickie” Heipley joined her Lord in heaven on September 1, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. Vickie was born to Daniel and Minnie Fraley on May 23, 1930, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. She leaves behind her wonderful husband, Robert Heipley, daughters Robin Whiteside (Greg) and Holly Herring (Stephen); and son, Robert Heipley, II (Renee). She also leaves her adoring grandchildren, JordanHerring, Jeffrey Whiteside, Destiny Herring, Matthew Herring, Galia Whiteside, Austin Borgen, Robert Heipley, III, and great-grandson, Mayson Wallace. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Edna Pearl Fraley, Daisy McQuain and Geraldine Meeker; also grandchildren Amanda Whiteside and Timothy Herring. Vickie was known for her great beauty, both inside and out. She had a keen sense of style and fashion. She was always quick to offer assistance to anyone in need and was a generous and giving hostess to all who visited her home. She would frequently bake or cook something for neighbors, family and her church family at West Grand Baptist Church. She moved to Ohio as a teenager which is where she met “her Bob” whom she married in 1952. They moved to New Mexico in 1956 where they lived until 1975 when they moved to Corona, California. Vickie owned a Merle Norman studio for many years in New Mexico and enjoyed using her expertise in applying make-up for many brides. Her number one priority in life was her family. After leaving Ohio, she spent many, many summers returning to visit her family there. Until she became ill, she spoke daily to her beloved sister, Lucille Knipp and niece, Sharon Bertram. She also doted on “her Bob”, her children and grandchildren continuously; always concerned about their welfare and any needs they may have. She spent much of her time doing something for them, or buying something she thought they might need or could use. The care she showed her family was phenomenal and will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank caregiver Martha and nurses Kathy and Shanda from Corona Regional Health for their loving care. The service for Vickie is at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 7, at West Grand Baptist Church located at 709 West Grand Boulevard, Corona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to West Grand Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
