Helen Carrie Parrish

Helen Parrish, age 100, passed away at her home in Riverside. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Susan Williams. She was the youngest of 6 children and the only person in her family to have reached the milestone age of 100, although her father and one sister reached the age of 99! Helen is survived by her two sons, John Parrish and wife Kay of Huntington Beach, CA; Bruce Parrish of Lake Elsinore, CA; two grandchildren, Luke and Troy Parrish; special family friend Kristen Sinchak and one great grandchild, Camryn Parrish. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and worked for the government for many years; part-time at her childrens schools and did bookkeeping at various local offices. She was a long time member of the Arlington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, in Riverside. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Dick) Parrish, who lovingly called her “Butch”, for reasons known only to him. She was born, and raised, in Newport News, VA, and moved to Takoma Park, MD, where she met, and married her husband, and where they raised their two boys.
