Helen L. Fish

Helen passed away peacefully in her home April 23, 2018 at the age of 98. She was born April 13, 1920 in Okema, Oklahoma and moved to California with her parents when she was 2 years old. She attended Corona schools and graduated from Corona High School in 1938. Helen married Gordon Fish in 1940 and had four sons Doug, Alan, Ron, and Gary. She worked at the then Corona Community Hospital as a nurse's aide. In 1974 Helen and her husband moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where she also worked as a nurse's aide at the Josephine County Hospital. When her husband passed away in 1996 she moved back to Corona to be near her sons where they were all active in caring for her, which enabled her to remain in her home her entire elder years. Helen was a member of West Grand Baptist Church where she loved going to the Wednesday Luncheons, Bible study and fellowship. She also delivered meals for shut-ins from the Corona Senior Center. Helen and her husband created many friendships over the years where even many of the children of their friends remained in contact and considered her a friend. Helen is survived by two sons, Alan and Gary both of Corona and nine Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon and two sons Ron and Doug.
