Hermina (Minie) De Vries, 87, of Ontario, California died April 30, 2024, at San Antonio Regional Hospital. She was born to Gerrit and Margaret (Bosch) Bos on July 29, 1936, in Boyden, Iowa.
In 1954, Hermina graduated from Bellflower Christian High School. Upon graduation she worked as a bank teller. February 17, 1956, she married the love of her life, Abraham (Abe) De Vries, they shared 68 years of devotion to one another. Together they raised four children: Gerry, Greg, Curtis and Marvin. She and Abe worked side by side in the dairy industry for many years.
Singing in The Joyful Sounds women’s music group brought her much joy. Their album not only displayed her musical gift but also her love for the Lord. She enjoyed sewing for her sons and grandchildren. She wore her bright, bold and often embellished clothing style well. Dirt bike riding allowed her to enjoy outdoor adventures with her family. Travel was a beloved pastime; she and Abe kept the trailer ready for a road trip and were blessed to travel abroad over the years.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Abraham, her four sons and spouses and their children: Gerry De Vries (Deanna) Nick, Matt and Hannah, Greg De Vries (Julie) Katy and Hank, Curtis De Vries (Cindy) Candace, Charisse, Cybrina and Collin, Marvin De Vries (Lori) Lauren and Mark and twelve great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Margaret Bos, a sister Mildred and brother John Bos.
