Ira Lawrence Bean

Ira Lawrence Bean, age 70, passed away on Saturday April 6, 2019 in Corona, California. He was born August 6, 1948 in Redlands, California to Turk and Ruby (Jenkins) Bean. He graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1967. Ira had a distinguished career in the Army, receiving numerous awards including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He also served in Korea and was stationed in Seattle, WA; Germany; and Huntsville, AL. He retired as a Staff Sargent in Alabama after 20 years of service. He loved the open road and drove trucks long distance for the next 20 years, eventually retiring in Henderson, NV. Ira was patient, hard-working, liked to donate to charitable organizations (including animal shelters and childrens funds), and befriended many people throughout his travels. He is survived by his: son Jeffrey Bean and spouse Amber; daughter Erica (Bean) Martinez and spouse Steve; sister Ocie Bean; sister-in-law Joan Bean; niece Rhonda Hilton-Shore; niece Alisan (Bean) Rowland and Pam; nephew Jason Hilton and his spouse Sherry; granddaughters Caitlin Bean, Abbie Bean, and Mia Martinez; and many other loved ones and friends. All are welcome to pay their respects at his viewing on Tuesday April 16th from 2-5 pm at the Thomas Miller Mortuary at 1118 E. 6th St. Corona, CA. His military graveside service with honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at 9:30 am on Wednesday April, 17th (meeting spot to be announced or you can provide dads name at the entrance). Immediately following will be a celebration of life at Hunter Park at 1401 Iowa Ave. in Riverside.
